A great way to finish off a cross country season at Delsea Regional High School last Saturday.
It was a cool Saturday morning as the Lacey cross country team loaded onto the bus for their last meet of the season. As the runners ran their warm up, they noticed that the ground was saturated with the rain that had just fallen not too long before they had arrived at Delsea. They knew at this moment that it would be a muddy mess running the course. Despite this, the runners laced up their shoes and got to the starting line.
The gun went off and already many runners had slipped in the mud. One of the runners from a different school even lost his glasses in the mud at the beginning of the race. Alex Lytle came in first for Lacey with a time of 18:03, Brenden Heitz came in second for Lacey with a time of 18:08, and James Mitchelli came in third for Lacey with a time of 18:53.
