Boys Hoops Picking Up Steam at the Right Time

In one of the wildest, most unpredictable finishes in Lacey Boy’s Basketball history, Lacey overcame a 20 point 2nd quarter deficit to beat Toms River South 85-81.

Long-time public address announcer Ken Hart said as he left the building,”That has to be be a top ten all time game here at Lacey”. As frustrating to watch early for fans, it was exhilarating to see shot after shot go in during an amazing third quarter.  Lacey must have shot over 70% from the floor as Donovan Bacchetta and Troy Buxton had 6 3-pointers  each from late in the 2nd quarter on.

As the shots started going in crowd got louder and even a late take over of the Lacey home rooting section by the Toms River students didn’t faze them.   Both student sections were having fun with it.  The varsity cheer team went all out with flips and really loud cheers.  It’s hard sometimes in a gym as large as Lacey to really get the noise going but that night it was.

Coach Sean McAndrew used rotations of players to keep finding the right mix and it paid off as players came off the bench to score and there were contributions from many players to get to the amazing total of 85 points.
